Curried Lamb Pizza

Lamb on Pizza…Yumm-O


Now that I have the yummiest healthy pizza crust recipe, I have made pizza once, sometimes twice a week!  I have tried so many different topping, repeating a few because they are just that good.  Well this is one of those repeat recipes. Delicious curried lamb, in its own sauce, cheese and there you have it!

Before starting on your lamb be sure to start on you pizza dough. while it is rising you can make your lamb and then store it till you’re ready to make the pizza. Here is the recipe I use. Whole Wheat Pizza Dough Recipe

What you’ll need:


In this picture I have basil, that was a mistake, it was supposed to be cilantro!!!

Lamb diced into 1/4 inch cubes

1/2 red onion sliced

2 roma tomatoes diced

  or 4 tbsps crushed tomatoes

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1/4 cup cilantro chopper

4 cloves garlic chopped

lemon juice

Shredded mozzarella cheese

Here’s what you do:

Heat your oil in a heavy based pot. When the oil is heated, add your sliced onion.


Saute the onions for a minute or two, then add lamb and all your dry spices.


Toss the lamb until it is well coated with the spices and allow to brown slightly.


Then add tomatoes, cilantro, garlic and lemon juice, (the juice of one lemon or the equivalent from a bottle.)


Add some water, just enough so the lamb is covered and can simmer gently. Allow to cook on medium heat uncovered for about 30 minutes or until the lamb is tender. Keep an eye on the lamb, you may need to add more water so that you have enough sauce. Or you may need to simmer longer to thicken your sauce if you added too much water.  It should look like this when done.


While your lamb is simmering, heat your oven to 425 with your stone in it.

Now to assemble your pizza:

Roll out your pizza dough, sprinkle corn meal on the stone and then put the dough on. Top with the lamb and as much sauce as you like.


Then top it off with some shredded mozzarella and you are ready to bake!


This crust only takes 16 minutes to cook unless you went with a thicker crust, then follow what the recipe says. When it is done it will look like this.


This pizza was so delicious for a meat lovers pizza, we will have a hard time trying something new! Hope you find a way to love it too!
